ReiCat delivered helium recycling plant for first European titanium producing plant

First aviation-grade titanium recycling plant with ReiCat helium recycling for plasma arc melting (PAM). This titanium production plant for aviation is located in France).

Plasma arc melting uses elctrically excited inert gas (helium/argon) for producting titanium alloays. The gas ist not only used as heat transfer media but also ensures the required puritiy of titanium alloy ingots.

The ReiCat helium recovery system for producing titanium alloys enables the removal of impurities such as H2, N2, O2, Cl2, dust impurities and humidity to ensure helium 6.0 quality. It is suitable for the titanium production for aviation, electronic industry as well as medical industry. The ReiCat gas recycling system permits a helium recovery rate of at least 95%. Therefore operating costs are reduced by more than 80 %.
